ABOUT ANTHONYDORSEY
For years I have led various project implementations, providing Graphic design services for Los Angeles, the Inland Empire, San Fernando Valley and Orange County. At each company I have worked for I have learned the workflow and or Computer Management System within days. I have demonstrated success in working on these project’s life cycles resulting in an increase of clientele to my employers. I have also done a great amount of freelance work for customers who I still work with. The reason I get more clients is not because I go out and get them, it is because my clients are well taken care of when it comes down to their graphics. I put 170% into each design and it is reflected through my work.
Super Color Digital
During my employment at Super Color Digital I worked with grand formatting digital printers. There was absolutely no room for mistakes. Imposing large format design files for print on GS3250, GS5000, FabriVu, Mimaki and Roland large format printers. I was able to color check of specified design files with the approval of the sales reps, project and production managers. Designing client files for print while collaborating with printers, sales reps and project managers to create the desired final print for client. The RIP we used for the system was EFI XF Firey.
Viva Concepts
During my employment at Viva Concepts I worked with offset printing, embossing and foil with copper stamps and plastic colored and transparent cards. It was a little tricky creating the backsides for the transparent cards because they required a white layer in between and the back needed to be reversed. With the cards we had custom software to add the information on to each card, so they could be scanned at the clients place of business. When scanned the client would be able to see the entire coupon description of the gift card provided. I coordinated all of the copper stamps and plastic cards to complete each project. Before coordinating the entire completion of the project I would make a mock up to be approved by the partner/owner of Viva Concepts. I would also work closely with the partner/owner to create new templates for the Heidelberg press. The RIP we used for the system was EFI XF Firey.
Signorelli Brands
During my employment with Signorelli Brands as a licensing coordinator and tech pack designer I learned the process of not just t-shirt design but the production development, branding and licensing. I now the licensing process very well and I am familiar with the submission process for the following:
-
Viacom
-
Marvel Epic Rights
-
CLC (Universities)
-
LRG (Universities)
-
INDIE (Universities)
-
Paramount
-
FOX
-
Bandai
-
Matel
-
Bravado
-
NHL
-
Etc.
I usually submit the artwork to the licensor, when it is approved I get the tech pack together by sizing and finding a placement for the art on an approved body (blank/ cut and sew). Once this is approved, the art is then sent to the assigned factory for pre-production. The licensing process may change slightly with every company but I know the basics in getting licensed artwork approved for pre-production and production. I know the process of getting proproduction/ strike off samples approved by the licensors. Once the licensor and the buyer agrees production is then started. Once production is started I take samples from the production manager (domestic/ imports) and send them off to the licensor as contractual samples
AT&T Yellow pages and Flashfactory
During my employment with AT&T Yellow Pages and Flash Factory, I had the opportunity to showcase my graphic, web, media design and code editing abilities. Flash Factory is where I cultivated my websites and minor coding skills at a fast pace. I am not at the point where I can’t write code from scratch but I can recognize and edit it. I learned how to edit HTML, XML, CSS, SEO and Actionscript. At Flash factory I was the only designer creating the sites after the Art Director got the final approval for the mock up. I would also deal with the clients from start to finish of the entire project.
Drissi Advertising and Erin Condren Design LLC.
During my employment Drissi Advertising and Erin Condren Design I was trained by brilliant professionals in a fast paced environment. My employment with these companies has given me the ability to successfully multitask under pressure as well as the value of teamwork. At Erin Condren Design I learned to work at a fast pace while designing the personalization for each client. I dealt with each client personally and seen each of their orders to the final print production.
The Processors and GotPrint.com
While at the Processors and GotPrint.com, I learned the prepress process as well as the importance of diligence in relation to the final print of any project. As a result of that experience, I am well educated with prepress, while understanding the mechanics of the print process.
Through my combined education and experience, I can capably utilize my understanding of graphic design for your company. In review of your company’s objectives, I believe that my experience is in perfect line with your current needs. I can make myself available for an interview at your convenience. Thank you for your time and consideration.
